ITK Annual General Meeting: Iqaluit

Last evening ITK hosted a welcoming reception at the Frobisher Inn for delegates to our Annual General Meeting. It was well attended with guests including the Premier of Nunavut, Ms. Eva Arreak, the Mayor of Iqaluit, Ms. Elisapee Sheutiapik, and Truth and Reconciliation Commissioners currently in Iqaluit to meet with residential school survivors.

At the meeting, which began today, we will conduct the regular usual business of an AGM including presenting our annual report that contains a wealth of information about our activities over the last year, and attend a working lunch with the Truth and Reconciliation Commissioners.

Other matters on the agenda are discussion of the legal challenge launched against the European Union seal product ban, the Inuit education strategy, and the Inuit Knowledge Centre.
