Ottawa, Ontario – Monday May 14, 2012 – Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK), the national Inuit association representing the Inuit of Canada, is pleased to announce that two candidates have submitted nominations to seek the position of President of ITK.

The candidates are, in alphabetical order:

• Mr. Terry Audla, of Iqaluit, Nunavut.
• Mr. Robert Watt, of Ottawa, Ontario.

The presidential election will take place following the completion of the ITK Annual General Meeting on Wednesday June 6, 2012. The ITK President is elected by the delegates to the ITK Annual General Meeting.
