Monday, August 28, 1978 Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik through the Makivik Corporation Air Inuit was established, and began operations, using a single de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver aircraft.
The airlines operating certificate was issued on August 28, 1978.
