Draft Proposal To Settle Outstanding NWT Inuit Land Claims

On December 14, 1977, a draft Agreement in Principle to settle the outstanding land claims of Northwest Territory Inuit was presented to the [then] Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs, J. Hugh Faulkner.

The proposal called for the creation of a new territory to be called Nunavut (Our Land) with its own government.
