First Sitting Of Kativik Regional Government
The first sitting of the Kativik Regional Government (KRG) was held Quaqtaq, Nunavik (Northern Quebec) August 30 - September 1, 1978. During the meeting councillors established procedures by which the regional government would operate, elected a Speaker, a Deputy Speaker, and the Executive Committee, and passed a resolution to locate the head office the KRG in Kuujjuaq.
