Help us celebrate 40 years of Inuit unity
| ![]() |

We want to showcase how far we have come as Inuit in Canada since a group of Inuit visionaries sat together in 1971 to form Inuit Tapirisat of Canada (now Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami).
In the last four decades, the most significant accomplishments Inuit have attained are the signing of five comprehensive land claims agreements with the Government of Canada:
- Nunavik (1975 & 2008),
- Inuvialuit (1984),
- Nunavut (1993), and
- Nunatsiavut (2005)
As the National Inuit Organization representing all Inuit of Canada, we not only want to celebrate these major landmark events but, all else Inuit have been able to succeed in as individuals, families and communities throughout Inuit Nunangat, Canada and around the world.

If you have photos, illustrations, stories to tell or even videos or audio tapes that capture the work of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and other important Inuit events from the last 40 years, you can share them with us.
