Joanna Awa

Joanna was born on the Igloolik shore in 1961, as her mom was carrying cargo from the beach to the Hudson Bay Company warehouse.  During high school in Iqaluit, she was part of a weekly radio show involving students residing at the Ukiivik Centre. She joined CBC in 1984 and has worked as an announcer, producer and reporter.
