Joseph Paul Flowers will graduate with a joint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Civil Law degree from McGill University in December 2011. He is one of 14 Jane Glassco Arctic Fellows at the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation, and is examining the Kativik School Board’s post-secondary sponsorship policy and program from a student perspective. Prior to his law studies, Flowers completed a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics at McGill University and earned a diploma in professional cooking from l'Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec in Montreal. He has cooked professionally in some of Montreal’s top restaurants.
