Jennifer Watkins, National Inuit Youth Council President

From August 16^th to 20^th The National Inuit Youth Council (NIYC) met in Inuvik NWT. The summit was designed as an opportunity to develop leadership skills and set priorities for the council.

At the summit Jennifer Watkins of Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, was elected by delegates to the position of NIYC President, as President she also will hold a non-voting position on the ITK Board of Directors representing Inuit youth.

During the meetings the following items were decided upon as youth priorities, culture & language, education & health, housing, networking & communications, funding & support.
