Nellie Cournoyea

Nellie Cournoyea has served 16 years as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation. In 2008, she was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. She also served as the sixth Premier of the Northwest Territories and as Cabinet Minister in a number of portfolios. Cournoyea is a recipient of the National Aboriginal Achievement Award and Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Lakehead University, Carleton University and the University of Toronto.
