"Northern Frontier, Northern Homeland" Report Released

On May 9, 1977 Justice Thomas Berger released the first volume of a two volume report on the findings of the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry titled “Northern Frontier, Northern Homeland”

The report recommended a 10-year moratorium on pipeline construction while native land claims were settled, and a permanent ban on any pipeline from Alaska across the northern Yukon.
