Pita Aatami

Pita Aatami has served as President of Makivik Corporation since 1998. He is also Chairman of First Air, and former president of Kuujjuamiut Inc., Halutik Enterprises and Nayumivik Landholding Corporation. In 2008, the Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada appointed Aatami to the National Aboriginal Economic Development Board. In 2007, Reader’s Digest named him a Hero of the Year and described him as a “Tireless Fighter for His People.”
