Tony Anderson

In 1992, Tony Andersen was elected Vice-President of the Labrador Inuit Association (LIA). He was elected again in 2001 and served for one year as acting president. In 2005, he became First Minister of the Transitional Nunatsiavut Government.

 

During elections for the first official Nunatsiavut Government in October 2006, Andersen was again elected as an Ordinary Member for the community of Nain, and was selected by the members of the Nunatsiavut Assembly to serve as the First Minister. In September 2010, he was elected as the AngajukKâk for Nain.
