Parties Speak to Inuit Priorities in ITK Election Questionnaire Responses
April 21, 2011 – Ottawa, Ontario – Four of Canada’s five major political parties have responded to a list of 11 questions addressing Inuit priorities – from health to housing to environmental pressures. The parties were given two weeks – until April 20, 2011 – to respond to the questions, delivered in an open letter on April 5, 2011.

“There has been little national discussion of Inuit issues during this campaign,” said National Inuit Leader Mary Simon, President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami. “These 11 questions are ITK’s way of ensuring these issues are addressed and that Inuit across Canada are given the opportunity to make an informed choice on May 2.”
