Inuit – once relatively cancer-free – now have highest lung-cancer rate in the world: study

When Frankie Best asked three groups of Nunavut students if lung cancer or other smoking diseases had killed someone close to them, the stunning response was the same each time. Nearly all the Inuit young people put up their hands to indicate they had been touched by cigarette-related death, recalls the tobacco-control specialist.
