Inuktitut – Issue 125

By August 26, 2019 No Comments

Inuktitut magazine is 60 years old!

The first issue of Inuktitut was printed in 1959. Since then, Inuktitut has given voice to the Inuit experience through stories, essays, illustrations, photographs and more.

Issue #125 features Robert Kautuk’s stunning drone photography around Kangiqtugaapik (Clyde River).

We celebrate Nunavut’s 20th anniversary with an essay from Nunavut Commissioner Nellie Kusugak.

In our Inuktitut Interviews section, David Serkoak tells us the story of the Ahiarmiut, their relocations, and his role in Canada’s delivery of an apology to Ahiarmiut earlier this year.

For fiction, Mosha Folger describes a first encounter in his story, Which Way to Salvation. Illustrations by Megan Kyak-Monteith.
