ITK Statement on the Resignation of MMIWG Commissioner

“On behalf of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, I would like to thank Commissioner Marilyn Poitras for her work on the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. I thank her as well for travelling to Iqaluit in February with her fellow Commissioners to meet with ITK Board of Directors,” said ITK President Natan Obed. “ITK has confidence in the National Inquiry and Commissioners to continue their important work, and will continue to advocate on behalf of Inuit to advance outcomes for a better, safer future for our families and communities.”
