December 14, 2016 — Natan Obed, President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, congratulates Aluki Kotierk on her election as President of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) and welcomes her to the ITK Board of Directors.
“I look forward to working with Aluki on the many challenges that Inuit face in Nunavut and across Inuit Nunangat,” said Obed. “I fully support her goals to empower Inuit to think big, to promote and support Inuit language, culture and identity, and to address the critical need for collective healing.”
The President of Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. is one of four voting members of the ITK Board. Kotierk was most recently Director of Inuit Employment and Training for NTI, and has held senior positions with the Government of Nunavut, the Office of the Language Commissioner of Nunavut, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, and Inuit Tapirisat of Canada (now Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami).
