Parental Engagement
The goal of the National Committee on Inuit Education (NCIE) is to create greater awareness of the links between student success and parent-school-community engagement through the development of collaborative programs and resources.
Recognizing that parents play a primary role in supporting student success, the National Committee on Inuit Education recommends the development of a program to engage parents that will accomplish the following goals:
Promote
Work with national organizations and regional partners to develop a media campaign to promote the role of parents in student success and the importance of student attendance from ECE through K-12.
Train
Develop resources and provide training to promote the link between student success and parent engagement, and emphasize parents’ role in building healthy school communities.
Research
Examine best practices in parent engagement and student attendance, and share ideas that promote the role of parents in student success and the importance of parental support.
