
What are the ITK Awards?
These awards recognize Inuit excellence and work to advance Inuit self-determination in Canada. Past recipients have been identified by Inuit Land Claims Organizations. Now for the first time, we are opening the nominations more widely. Anyone can nominate an Inuk doing exceptional work. Past recipients have been recognizing for their efforts towards advancing youth, women, language and culture, health, elders, cultural repatriation, Inuit knowledge, and volunteerism.
Up to five recipients will be chosen by an ITK Awards committee
Recipients will receive:
- Cash prize and gift
- Recognition by Inuit leadership
- Travel to awards presentation
Eligibility
Nominees must be:
- An Inuk enrolled under an Inuit Nunangat land claims agreement
- An Inuk doing exceptional work in a field to advance Inuit and Inuit self-determination
