Summary of the Initiative

Between 2016 and 2019, the structure that the program would take was worked on, and two resource staff were subsequently recruited to implement the program. The activities under the “NUNAMI” Program officially started in the fiscal year 2018-2019.

The “NUNAMI” program provides funding for the 14 Nunavik communities for various types of community projects. Funds are distributed on a per capita basis.

In 2018-2019, the support workers travelled in some communities to promote the program and to do follow up (observation, activity report, filling documents, etc.). This allowed the communities to learn the

existence of the program but also to consider the program as an interesting resource for psychological healing. In 2018/2019, the NRBHSS funded nine on the land projects with 275 participants within six communities.
